Western Imaging Group is leading the way with state of the art digital Toshiba Xario & Aplio and GE Logiq S8 ultrasound machines. All machines provide high quality imaging and use the latest in software technology.

GE Lunar DXABone density is examined using the GE Lunar Prodigy Bone Densitometer which uses Dual-energy X-Ray Absorptiometry (DXA). The GE Lunar DXA delivers extraordinary precision and low dose radiation, whilst providing accurate data on soft tissue and bone composition.

All mammography at Western Imaging Group is performed using the GE Senographe Essential.

The GE Senographe includes tomosynthesis i.e. allowing imaging slices of the breast, and is more sensitive in detecting cancers.

Ergonomically designed and imaging at low dose ensures comfort and piece of mind, all patients will benefit from the latest technology provided by the GE Senographe Essential.

All general x-ray and screening procedures are performed at Western Imaging Group using the latest in digital technology. Films are processed with Computed Radiography systems eliminating environmentally unfriendly chemicals.

Our x-ray machine units provide high quality digital images that can be presented both electronically and in the traditional x-ray film format.

Toshiba Aquilion

At Western Imaging Group we have the only 640 Slice CT scanner in the Blacktown and surrounding regions. There are only a limited number of these in Australia and this machine spearheads new technology. The Toshiba Aquilion ONE 640 Slice CT gives uncompromised image quality and decreased scanning times.

Significant radiation dose reductions can be achieved as well as faster scanning times compared to non volumetric scanners. Non volumetric scanners can deliver more radiation for certain examinations.

Furthermore the Toshiba Aquilion ONE will allow virtual coronary angiography.  This is an internationally accepted and used technique and available in only a handful of centres throughout Australia.  Virtual coronary angiography allows the coronary arteries, and any plaque and stenosis, to be clearly visualised.  Unlike traditional invasive hospital based angiography, where only the bore of the artery is seen, the entire vessel can be analysed.

Virtual Coronary Angiography is a simple CT contrast examination which takes only a few minutes.  Any patient with chest pain or appropriate history can be scanned and the test will be bulk-billed.

CT colonoscopy, along with 3D reconstructions, can also be performed on this scanner.

Western Imaging Group has the latest digital technology, the VATECH PaX-I OS Dental Imaging System. It provides superior image quality with high resolution scans to elucidate clearly all dental anatomy. OPG and cephalometry are digitally manipulated and enhanced, providing all referrers with the finest in quality dental imaging.
